Paragliding in Kaş: Tandem Flights & What to Know

Tandem paragliding over Kaş and the Turquoise Coast — take-off points, what a flight is like, prices, safety and the best time to fly.

Seeing Kaş from the air is unforgettable: turquoise bays, the harbour, Meis (Kastellorizo) island offshore and the mountains tumbling into the sea. Tandem paragliding needs no experience — you simply run a few steps with a certified pilot and then float in silence above the Turquoise Coast.

Where you fly near Kaş

Where you fly near Kaş

Tandem flights near Kaş usually launch from the Asas/Çukurbağ ridge above town, with landings near the seafront. For the highest, longest flights, many operators drive you to Babadağ above Ölüdeniz (about two hours away), one of the world's premier paragliding mountains at nearly 2,000 m.

Local Kaş flights are shorter and more relaxed; the Ölüdeniz option is a bigger day out with a higher, longer descent.

What a tandem flight is like

After a short briefing you're clipped into a harness in front of the pilot, who controls the wing. Take-off is a few running steps down the slope; once airborne you sit back comfortably and enjoy the view. A flight lasts roughly 20–40 minutes depending on the site and conditions.

Pilots can fly gently for a calm, scenic ride, or add spirals if you want more thrill — just tell them your preference. Photos and video from a selfie stick are usually offered as an add-on.

Safety, weight limits and who can fly

Safety, weight limits and who can fly

Choose an operator with licensed tandem pilots, current insurance and well-maintained equipment, and a reserve parachute. Flights only run in suitable wind and weather, so a booking may be moved to another slot or day for safety — that's a good sign, not a problem.

Most operators fly passengers from around 4–5 years up to roughly 100–110 kg, but always confirm age, weight and any health conditions when you book.

Pair flying with a boat day

Paragliding is usually a morning or late-afternoon activity, when the air is calmest, so it slots neatly around a boat trip on another day. A classic Kaş combination is a Kekova boat day, a beach day at Kaputaş, and a flight to see the whole coast from above.

Tell us your dates and we'll help you sequence the boat trips; for the flight itself we'll point you to reputable local tandem operators.
